MFSC 2-10-4, for steamby51

The MF&SC in 1921 bought 30 2-10-4s from numbers 1270-1299. Half of these massive engines, some of the largest ever built for their wheel arrangement (and strangly for a engine of there size, featured some rather lovely trim and decour) were stationed with half in the great lakes region, and th rest scattered about along the west coast. These engines would later inspire another class of MFSC 2-10-4s.

Named in 2008, engine 1275 was named 'Alexander Edward Karnes', a...rather eccentric railwayman, one of many the MF&SC would later honor by naming numerous engines.
